Walter Epp: You are a Spiegel bestselling author on the subject of persuasive rhetoric. And my question was: “How did you even get into this topic?” I mean, you don’t get up in the morning and think hey, I’m going to be a rhetoric trainer, can you tell us your story? How did you get into this topic?
Wlad Jachtchenko: Yes, to sum it up briefly, I studied something completely different. I studied law and political science in Munich and at the same time – and this was by chance – I discovered the debating club in greece email list Munich. It’s a student club where people meet every week to give speeches, to debate rhetorically. And you get to talk about strange topics. For example, should women dress sexily or should we invade North Korea and overthrow the dictator? And these different topics – it was always a kind of surprise box – excited me so much that I went to tournaments, rhetoric tournaments, German championships, European and world championships. And alongside my studio, that was my big, big, big hobby.

I also studied law, finished my studies, but then I said, hey, I’d rather do something with writing.
